HRIPT/RIPT
HRIPT/RIPT is considered a credible method to evaluate the sensitization and irritation of cosmetics to the human body. HRIPT/RIPT has sealing and high sensitivity, can simulate and amplify the actual use process of the product, and detect most of the allergens.
During the induction period of the HRIPT experiment, the patch lasts for 24 hours, and then the next patch is performed at an interval of 24 or 48 hours. The induction period generally lasts for 3 weeks, and the product needs to be applied 9 times on the same site. After the induction period is over, there is a two-week rest period. During the rest period, various immune responses are fully carried out, and the allergic reaction in the induction period disappears so as not to interfere with the experiment in the provocation period. The cumulative irritation test (CITS) has a period of 14 days or 21 days, and is generally used to compare the irritation between different products belonging to the same category. Sample concentration, sample usage, sample matrix and sealing method will all have an impact on the experimental results, and different test schemes need to be developed according to different types of products.
