Product Name
Recombinant Protein A, His-tagged
Product Overview
Recombinant Staphylococcus Aureus ProteinA (Ala2-Cys293) contains 299 amino acids and a His tag at the N-terminus, wasexpressed in E. coli
Description
Protein A is a 40-60kDa surface protein originally found in the cell wall of the bacteriaStaphylococcus aureus (SPA). SPA binds proteins from many of mammalianspecies, most notably IgGs, and helps inhibit phagocytic engulfment and actsas an immunological disguise viathis type of interaction, thus the bacteria will disrupts opsonization andphagocytosis. It binds with the Fc region of immunoglobulins throughinteraction with the heavy chain. It couples to a wide variety of reportermolecules including fluorescent dyes, enzyme markers, biotin, colloidal goldand radioactive iodine without affecting the antibody binding site.Recombinant Protein A was developed to increase the specificity of themolecule for IgG and is widely used both in research and bioprocessing.

E. coli
Form
Bulk protein in a 0.22 μm filtered solutionof PBS, pH 7.4 and delivered as liquid formulation or lyophilizedpowder.Normally 5-8% trehalose and mannitol are added as protectants beforelyophilization.
Endotoxin
Less than 0.01 ngendotoxin/μg Recombinant Protein A.
Purity
>95%as determined by SDS-PAGE of 6 μg reduced recombinant proteins. All lots aregreater than 95% pure.
